1. Purpose

These terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities between AfterWork Labs ("the developer") and you for the use of the Android app Photos ("the app").

2. The service

The app shows the photos and videos stored on your device by date, in the Calendar, Grid, Insights and Explore screens. Everything is processed on the device. The app is free and has no sign-up, no in-app purchases and no ads.

3. Your photos and videos

The app only shows photos and videos; it never deletes, moves or edits them. Favorites are recorded in your device's media store (MediaStore) and shared with other gallery apps on the device. Photos you hand to another app with Share follow that app's terms and policies. Keeping and backing up your original photos is your responsibility.

4. Accuracy of dates and locations

The app decides the date a photo was taken from the capture time and location recorded in the photo and from time zone boundary data bundled with the app (© OpenStreetMap contributors, timezone-boundary-builder, ODbL). If that information is missing or wrong, the date may differ from the real one. If you turn on "Show photo location" in Settings, addresses come from the device's geocoding service (provided by Google on most devices), and their accuracy and availability depend on that service. Location data is handled as described in the privacy policy.

5. Prohibited use

You may not reverse-engineer the app or use it for any purpose that breaks the law.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is", without any guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental or special damages arising from use of the app, except for damages caused by the developer's intent or gross negligence.

Changes to these terms are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
