Privacy policy
AfterWork Labs ("the developer") operates Photos ("the app") and the website afterworklabs.pages.dev ("the website"). This policy explains what happens to personal information. The Korean version is the authoritative text.
1. Purpose of processing
The app has no accounts, no purchases and no ads. The developer collects no personal information through the app. Everything that shows your photos and videos runs on your device.
2. What is processed
The app collects no personal information. The following values are stored only on your device and are never sent to the developer:
- App settings: the "important day" threshold, whether screenshots are excluded, the first day of the week, whether place names are enabled, video looping, sort order, and the Explore tab filters
Favorites are not stored by the app; they are recorded in your device's media store (MediaStore).
If Android backup is turned on, these app settings may be included in the backup in your Google account. Android handles that backup and nothing is sent to the developer.
3. Retention
No personal information is collected, so there is no retention period. The app settings in section 2 stay on your device while you use the app.
4. Deletion
Uninstalling the app removes the app settings stored on your device.
5. Transfer abroad: Google LLC (place names)
Only if you turn on "Show photo location" in Settings, your device sends the coordinates where a photo was taken directly to the device's geocoding service (Android Geocoder) to get an address. On most devices Google provides this service. The request does not pass through any server of the developer, and the developer never receives or stores the coordinates or the address. This feature is off by default.
- Recipient and contact: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA · Google privacy contact
- Countries: the United States and other countries where Google operates data centers
- When and how: over an encrypted connection, each time a place is shown in the full-screen viewer or the Explore tab
- Items: the photo's location coordinates (latitude and longitude). The photo file and other photo details are not sent.
- Purpose: showing the address where a photo was taken
- Retention: as described in Google's privacy policy. The app does not store the address it receives.
- Basis: your consent, asked when you turn on "Show photo location"
- How to refuse: leave "Show photo location" off, or turn it off in Settings. No address is shown, and every other feature keeps working.
There is no other outsourcing of processing and no provision to third parties.
6. Your rights
Because the app collects no personal information, there is nothing to access, correct, delete or restrict. For any privacy question, use the contact in section 8 and you will get a reply without delay.
7. Safeguards
- The app does not have the internet permission (
INTERNET). It does not send photo or video files to any server. The only information that leaves the device is the coordinates in section 5, sent through the operating system's geocoding service and only if you turned the feature on. - Minimum permissions: the app asks only for permission to read photos and videos (
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES,READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, orREAD_EXTERNAL_STORAGEon Android 12 and earlier) and to read the location stored in a photo (ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION). - When you tap Share, the photo is handed to the app you choose. What happens next follows that app's policy.
